Saturday night’s engagement session with Stacie + Kyle was certainly one for the books. We were in DC (which I never get to be), we went to a place in DC I’d never been (Theodore Roosevelt Island) and I actually drove into DC (and we made it back alive). We picked Theodore Roosevelt Island (okay, I guess technically the George Washington Parkway bike/running trail) because we could see the beautiful monuments across the Potomac River. I’d never been on this part of the parkway but, goodness gracious, the scenery is beautiful! We had so many fall trees, weeping willows and beautiful water views to photograph. And of course, Stacie + Kyle looked AMAZING in every location!

I work with Stacie so when she started talking about her wedding planning, I was THRILLED she asked me to take their engagement pictures. They got engaged while down in New Orleans this September and will be returning in August for the wedding! I loved getting to talk about wedding planning out of town, how much they love NOLA and just LAUGH with them. These two are so full of laughs and energy, I’m so thankful for it. They made my job so easy! Kyle had some wonderful ideas and a great eye for locations – I told him he’s going to have to start coming to all of my sessions! Ryan had a blast chatting with Kyle about NOLA (especially the bar he owns part of) and it was great spending time with Stacie outside of work.

Stacie + Kyle, thank you for asking me to capture this time in your lives. You two are what every couple should dream of being – full of life, laughter and LOVE for each other. I hope you always look at each other the way you did Saturday and I hope you never stop laughing together. Thank you for hiking all over the trail with me (with my bad sense of direction), bringing some wonderful parts of yourself to our session and trusting me.  Ryan and I had an absolute blast Saturday night with you two and I wish you all the best in this season of life + every one ahead of you!

Enjoy some of my favorites from their session in DC!

"How lucky we were to win a session with her in a silent auction. She was so calm and flexible with my family, grandparent, husband, myself, 3 year old and 16 month old. She really captured our family's personality in all her photos. We can't wait to use her again! Thanks Kristina!"

-Claire Bolek

"I really enjoyed working with Kristina throughout this process. Graduating from college is something that only happens once, and I believe that there is no one better that I could have asked to take such personal pictures and capture such personal memories."
